We'd like to stress that this is a rumour, not proven in any way or form, before we go any further, but Apple is apparently getting ready to takeover Electronic Arts according to some.

It's a rumor. Why would Apple want to take over EA? Besides, EA is actually a successful company. NFS is not the only thing they do, and they actually produce some very good games.

Speaking of whys: why would Apple want Twitter? EA sounds like a much better investment as they actually have an income.

Apple seems to be all about publicity. I'm sure if they had twitter they could manage to brainwash a few more people into buying an iPhone.

Publicity is everything in the corporate world. If nobody knows your product, no one will buy them.

I dont see this happening. Apple will never buy a software company that creates products almost exclusively for Windows and Xbox (not to mention PS3 and Wii) unless they want to just have that market. I dont see them risking capital for that venture.
