5 speed Manual VS 6 speed Manual

I have a MX5 that was a 6 speed but when i took the 6th speed out, it gained twice the top speed.

How and Why is this possible?

cause the game is arcade, not simulation.

how did u take the 6spd out??? reduce your drive train??? The car will be slower on acceleration tho... top speed is not very often used in ciruict or URL due to corners, so you would obviously want a good acceleration and a good top speed. Not just top speed?

on individual transmision parts, dont install the 6-speed gearbox.

Yeah I was wondering about that aswell.. I didn't really try testing it to see what is better but it did show me some better figures with the 5spd.

well with the six speed tranny, u can change to gear ratios to suit whatever u need, so then i suggest the six speed is better because u can make it top out at 230 or 190 whichever u need.... plus ull get a faster acceleration

talkin about gears, i won a drag race and at the end the statistics say how many shifts you got perfect. i got 4/5 2nd got 3/6 3rd got 1/5 and 4th got 1/13.

No its not. 13 gears is possible if you downshift and upshift alot. Each shift will be counted as 1. So that means that during the race number 4 shifted 13 times.

Example: You shift to second gear to early. So you shift back to first gear, at perfect shift you shift again to second gear. That will show as 4 shifts.

from Neutral to 1st = 1
1st gear to 2d gear = 2
2d gear back to 1st gear = 3
again 1st gear to 2d gear = 4

it has also happened with the RX 7

im still trying it out on other cars
