I know a guy who thinks the exhaust from a 1.4 will make his 1.2 faster. Despite them being the same exhaust.

I also remember being at a drag strip and hearing one guy tell his friend that 'the porsche 911 turbo is running on kerosene today'. Kerosene, if you dont know, is aviation fuel. It can be used on some older non-injected diesels, but it is very damaging. It cant be used on any car with fuel injection, or forced induction. The 911 turbo has both. :D

I love posers.

The F40 is turbocharged. Or supercharged.. I forgot. :)

Never spoken to a poser, only seen those wannabees in their Honda CRX that want to be fast.

My aunt and uncle both love Ford Focus's. They have bought their second one, an 04 SVT. They said that the Focus was started in the USA so they should sell the RS here. We didn't have one is 1997, Europe did.

My friend: Im gonna give it a cool paintjob before I put on the bodykit. If you had any common sense, the body kit comes primered, or most often, light blue. You'll just have to paint it again, waste more money.

F40 Technical data can be found here:

http://www.supercars.net/cars/1991@$Ferrari@$F40x.html

Highlights: It's a 2936 cc / 179.2 cu in TWIN turbo V8.

So yeah, there is a turbocharged V8

Edit:

The other thing i've heard many times is the "My car goes 30 km/h faster with my new power filter" story. Mostly spread around by Golf drivers with big rims and a huge sewer pipe for exhaust.

THe F40 is not the only turbocharged Ferrari. The 288GTO is also has a twin-turbo V8.

The inspiration for the F40's engine actually came from the 288GTO.

And posers . . . Well i used to know this guy who thought that the RX3 is a 4-cyl car. And not only that, but he also claimed that he owned one.

lol.

Now my friend with his Probe is sayin junk like "Yea, basically, my probe has an RX-7 engine in it, so basically my car is an RX-7." His probe has a 160 HP V6, mazda RX7 has a rotary engine. If he knew anything about cars, he would know that a rotary is slower, and that they are hard to get to pass emissions.

I was the one that told him that Mazda was part of Ford motor vehicles, so Mazda and Ford are basically the same car, like the B-truck is a ranger and suck, same thing. He now calls his car a Mazda, because now he thinks that Mazda makes Ford.

Not very bright. He should just accapt the fact that he has a probe, made by ford, with a Piston engine. No Mazda anywhere on it.

Once I heard a guy saying that his father had a Lamborghini Diablo with NOS installled on it, and that he would come to school with it some day.

But every day he had a different excuse:

Day1: Ehr... my father is busy guys, cant come with the Diablo at the moment.
Day2: (His father came with an old Renault Clio): Yeah, thats my moms car. My dad doesnt let her take the Diablo.
Day3: We saw a red Ferrari F40 and I asked my father to race him. We had an accident and the Diablo is in the garage.
Day4: The Diablo is in Italy now, it needs special parts to be repaired.
Day5: There arent Diablo parts any more so my father decided to sell it

True story! (we were 9 years old kids)

We still remind that story sometimes :P

Actually, its faster than a probe in pretty much every sense of the word, from 0-60, top speed, quarter mile, rpm and the time it takes to break down. ;)

Actually, the Probe is the same car as the Mazda MX6, so unless Ford did all the development work, there are Mazda parts on the car. It doesn't mean anything to call it a Mazda instead, or make it better, but it is in part a Mazda.

Now, I once knew a guy who thought he could beat me in a drag race, just because he had a manual transmission. Nevermind that his Integra had an inferior power-to-weight ratio, that our cars got near-identical acceleration times (according to Car and Driver), and that he just wasn't that good with a stick-shift, he's got a manual, he must be able to beat me

Oh, and then I once knew a guy that claims to have cut a moving bullet in half with a samurai sword, among many, many other lucicrous things.

That's actually possible you know  But I doubt that he was holding the sword when he did it

A samurai sword can cut through a whole car if you wanted to.

isnt a samurai sword really a giant piece of steel compressed into such a small piece?

No, it's just a piece of steel that has been flattened out and folded, over and over and over again (this is what makes it really strong). And then it is hand sharpened with a stone and some water. The sharpening itself can take about 3 months.

The issue isn't with the samurai sword being able to cut a bullet in half. The issue is with the skill to do that, and that this guy doesn't have it. I mean, think about the reflexes, the accuracy required to do that. I can guarentee you, this guy can't do it.

Actually, if the guy with the gun was aiming at the sword, then it's quite possible. But I don't know how you would be able to find the bullet afterwards. :?
