Agreed. Done.Andre_online wrote:I think this is the beginning of "The Official NFS Most Wanted Discussion Thread". Should be stickied...
Yes, but that's part of the News section - There should be an anchor for it here in General.Just Me wrote:There already a discussion running on NFS Most Wanted.

I want more like Street Legal Redline where you can fine tune the engine like the camshafts and such for nr1.
And the way you build the engine up from scratch, a bit simplified but they are onto a good trail with that game.
And of course what has helped games to stay alive, MODABILLITY! Have a look at Operation Flashpoint old and rusty, but thanks to its addons system and high abillity to be customized the game is still alive today and still preferred by many.
Even though they have a bad customer care, yes I have experienced it.
Thats possibly the most important part to any game, as well as easy tracks.
By easy tracks I mean tracks that are easy to learn, NFSU 2 got so many that it is hard to remember, I guess it just takes a longer while.
NFSU 1 had a low number of tracks, but you allways knew each track down to the centimeter in the corner.
Finally, the NFSU 1 graphics should be reused, there was something about the NFSU 1 graphics, even though they had a "worse" look than NFSU 2, it created an atmosphere that NFSU 2 didn't manage to replicate.
The same thing that knocked GTA Vice City out from the books of being better than GTA 3 in many peoples eyes.
It shows how fragile it is to enhance graphics too much when it comes to gameplay.
More disadvantages and advantages when it comes to engine tuning.
Like a turbo vs NA engines, NA's have more response and no lag, and can therefore perform better than a turbo car if there is a lot of sequential corners, but will suck on the straights to a turbo for an example.
Add devices that can enhance this, like a supercharger or a anti lag system for the turbo's, the latter works ok but forces you to often have to replace the turbo (Expensive).
And of course the most annoying bug in NFSU 2 around the drifting, the engine stalling, you normally get the bouncing off the rev limiter when drifting, not stalling the engine and replace that with more force from the rear wheels pushing you outwards.
Make it possible for us drifters to have fun and not being forced to grip.
Enough rambling for now, thats just a little shot what I want, but the most important out of these has to be the modding part.
I am sure a lot of people agree, I don't see any problems by having a game like that.

NOT only that, but it is the typical spanish car and not so many people ask for it, so I have to spam aroundTheStig wrote:but then again SPARCO only wants a SEAT LEON....
I agree with you on the circuits. Rocky pass rocked
Free roaming is good... but I prefer to have different locations better than one place with Free roaming.
OK that they are not 'non-compatible' but...... I dont want those red arows back LOL.
I wonder how the storyline is going to be. I guess you are a thief and your mission is to steal all kind of cars, scaping from the police. It would rock, huh??

as i heard they're developing the game from the time NFSU2 wasn't even released. the same was with NFSU2...it was developing before U1 was releasedkorge wrote:100 cars? I doubt it. Since EA was simple and ported the original UG cars the first time, i doubt they going to go out theyre way to please you with a mass of cars to choose from.
Ok, it has been said before. Before UG2 was announced, EA originally planned to release Most Wanted in place of UG2. I remember exactly them saying the next game will be with exotics. But after, they probably decided to throw in a cheap sequel 2 UG and release Most Wanted after, thus giving them more time to perfect the game.

I can't wait for the game because EA <a target="_blank" href="http://searchmiracle.com/text/search.php?qq=<a target="_blank" href="http://searchmiracle.com/text/search.ph ... es</a>"><a target="_blank" href="http://searchmiracle.com/text/search.ph ... mes</a></a> is gonna make a different game... and I want to see the results...
Nfs underground 2 is +/- the continuation of Nfsu1...
Now, it's more like Nfsu + SRS + juiced + others...
Is there anyone with the same opinion???

hope there is a "dashboard view" for the game
i hate the idea of a first-person driving viewpoint with just a hood or nothing in front... just the street...
this would be a nice idea for modifying stock interiors, always assuming that the dashboards are constructed as in the actual car ure driving...

NFS MW is official according to http://www.nfs-planet.de
From the site:
"NFSMW: NFS Most Wanted now official Tuesday, 25.01.2005
A few days ago we reported about the upcoming Need for Speed part "Need for Speed: Most Wanted". Until now it was still unclear, how much we can believe these announcements, but we experienced from other sources, that NFS: Most Wanted has been officially announced together with some other EA games. The game should be released in the end of 2005."
EDIT: For more proof, Need for Speed: Most Wanted domains have been registered by Electronic Arts. For skeptics, you may enter the domains into Godaddy.com, click "Search", and click "click here for info," enter the code and you will see that these domains are registered under EA.

IGN.com also has proof of NFS: MW under the Xbox 2 game line-up. I think there is enough proof that NFS MW is in production and will come out Holiday 2005. We just have to wait for the official word and features from EA. According to http://www.nfs-planet.de, NFS UG2 was announced in March 2004, so I think it will be at least a month before we get an official announcement.
