Supercharged V8 , Twin Turbo V6 or highly modded 6 potter??

Post by bashderq »

I was wondrin which upgrade would be more feasible for your car. Just for arguements sake we'll say u've got all 3 cars ; V8, V6 and 6 cylinder car in u'r garage and a 100k budget.

Are you asking whether you should go all motor, turbo or s/c?

Depends on the application. Personally, Im a fan of the top end boost that turbos provide.

I would take the last option.

eg: Skyline GTR engine: RB26DE-TT

with about 1000bhp :D

I went for the supercharged V8.

But I would still like to have a fully worked Ford XR6T/F6 Typhoon.

Err, yes. He's asking what you would choose between those 3.-.-'

I'd take a TURBOCHARGED V8.

Out of those three, Id take the turbo 6. (Supra, please).

Although a choice between a turbo V8 and a turbo'd 6 would be difficult.

For me, it depends on a wide variety of factors, such as the application the engine is going to be used in, power-band of the engine, how it affects the weight distribution, etc. However, for the poll, I voted for a supercharged V8.

And, Dragster, would you mind elaborating as to why a four-cylinder is so much superior to a six or eight-cylinder? And if four-cylinders are so much superior to more cylinders, why do you have a Supra in your sig?

Personally I'd mod my Alfa GTV V6... with a super charger. Why? Cause it's diffrent, yet historical & super charged alfa V6s sound way nicer than turbo charged ones

Highly Modded Straight 6. A inline 6 is smoother and quieter than a V6. Also they can get better gas milage than a V8. Second choice is a supercharged V8.

I'd go for a straight 6. Never was much of a V-fan, though there is definitely nothing wrong with them. Just not my style.

Inline 6 with turbines.
Nothing beats the feeling of boost and howling turbines under the hood.

But out of free preference, sorry boys, I would take a 3 rotor or 4 rotor turbo.
4 rotor is the really expensive shiznit though 10k USD for the eccentric shaft alone ;) But the power, oh the lovely 4 rotor power.

I'd go for the supercharged V8. Kinda robs power to give it back, but you get it throughout the rev range and no "turbo lag". Besides which, you can't beat the rumble of a V8! :D

8) I'm for Inline 6
One of the best engines in the world: TOYOTA Supra, Nissan Skyline, and ofcourse BMW.
