Might Buy a 2000 civic SE, need help on a price

Post by Simon600 »

I found this 2000 Honda Civic SE, and its previous owner was a college girl

Its silver with spoiler, 5 spd, 109,000 Km, CD player, but no sport rims just factory stock hub caps
and it is being sold by her grand father for $10,500 canadian.

I would like any advice on this if this is a far price.
:D

sorry i have no pics but i'm shure you all know what a brand new looking civic coupe looks like

Hmm... I heard of a story at the garage my friend works at where a girl brought in her M3 manual tranny, and she said she had it for 4 months and it made a grinding noise. The whole transmission, including flywheel and clutch had to be replaced. She didn't know how to shift properly. Check it out and ask for a test drive before you buy it.

Just do some tests you do with every car.

Does it start immediately? ( Check the engine first, feel if it didn't run before you came ), chassis check, does it pull to one side if you brake, do a clutch test to see if it isn't worn out, etc. ( You can do this by putting it in the highest gear and releasing the clutch. If the engine keeps running, the clutch is dead )

10500 Canadian sounds reasonable. It's crazy cheap compared to Dutch prices.

Ah, stupid girl with too much money and no brains.
