Re: A newbie here who just got a copy...
The CPU and RAM are ok, but what you/we really need to know is the graphics capability of the laptop. It pretty much needs to be discreet in order to run the game properly (or even, at all). Any idea what that might be? If unsure, post the exact make and model of the laptop.

Re: Cant Install Most Wanted
Certainly sounds like a damaged disk. You could try to make a copy of the disk. Typically cd/dvd burner software use more robust methods when reading the source disk. If you are lucky, a copy of the disk might work just fine. Be sure the use the original when playing, iirc Wanted still used a disk c...

Re: Just want to talk? Come here.
Oh, no, it gets better. Recently I spent $2700 on a computer speaker setup. それはどうだ??? Say what?! That's monopoly dollars right?! =P~ My total mediacenter setup (mce pc, 42" tv, av-amp, 5.1 speaker system) total might be close to that, but for a "computer" setup that's awesome. Care t...

I'd also get a warranty upgrade to atleast 3 years. At that price range you'll be really upset if it should fail after the first year with just the basic warranty.

Re: RAID trouble (controllers: AMD SB 600, Marvell 6121)
You could partition with that installer to (for example) two 1.5 TB partitions, which would then give the correct total size. After the OS install you should be able to see the disk and the partition in disk manager where you should be able to convert the disk to dynamic and re-partition to one part...

Re: RAID trouble (controllers: AMD SB 600, Marvell 6121)
What does the Marvell controller itself report as the size of the array (the configurator during bootup, don't go into OS at all)?

Re: RAID trouble (controllers: AMD SB 600, Marvell 6121)
That, I'm afraid, is a limitation of NTFS (maximum partition table (MBR) size is 2TB, 64TB for XP64). You need to create a "dynamic" volume in disk manager for bigger partitions. However booting from a dynamic (or GPT) volume requires EFI-support and 64bit OS, but as I understood you won't...

Re: RAID trouble (controllers: AMD SB 600, Marvell 6121)
I might end up buying a real hardware RAID controller, but I don't know where to check if it's real RAID or fakeraid, because it was never stated for my motherboard to only support fakeraid. What would be the best type of a hardware RAID controller, a PCI card, a PCI-E card or something else (if th...

Re: RAID trouble (controllers: AMD SB 600, Marvell 6121)
Are you saying the when you boot up to XP you cannot see the drives connected to the marvell controller at all? Not even in "control panel -> system -> device manager". If so you propably need to (re)install the Marvell drivers for XP. You are sure the Marvell (in IDE mode) can't be set as...

True. All stores online or offline have discount items. Personally I haven't bought a physical media game (for PC) since I started using Steam. And propably won't in the future either. Steam it's just so effortless to use, buy->install->play. No need to mess with DVD's which might fail, drm's also w...

Much of it is propably also due to casual gaming popularity increase in general (on all platforms, mobile to console to pc). In the last few years we have seen a number of very simple games indeed rise to online fame (Farmville anyone?), World sort of hits this market with it's quick adoptability an...

Not common, but not unheard of. It is possible the winner was using a high level rental car and owned (which is somewhat common if all racers are relatively close in level and only one them is using a much, much higher level car).

Re: PhotoShop
Short version: Elements is the (very) water down version for home users, the CS version is the full professionally used version.
The price ratio should give you a clue. Elements is around 80€, CS5 (the latest version) goes for about 800€ (the extended version even more).
