i dont think so... the ferrari 550 maranello, testarossa, 360 spider, Lamborghini gallardo, diablo, porsche 911 turbo are all exotics...... but to me the BMW M3 is not an exotic...

Bmw really hasn't gotten hold of the "Exotic" line yet. They are more of the fast luxury cars or something like that along with the jaguar (but jaguar made the Xj-220 you see). Now Mercedes has the SLR and the Clk-Gtr witch are pretty much like the exotics, but once I see BMW construct a car that can hit 0-60 in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 205+ then that would be an exotic. And hey if I don't know about a secret bmw that has hit this, then please correct me.

I really doubt that the M3 could beat the SLR Mclaren in any kind of race.... so its not like the M3 can beat any mercedes like yuou said..... well thats what i think you said anyway.
Dont get me wrong, i really like the MBW M3... and i will get it when i get most wanted but to me it just isnt an exotic.
TheNoobFerraris said it is just a fast luxury sedan... that is pretty much the same thing i was going to say next.

Didnt say it would beat the SLR, although turboed and a few other parts it probably could since the SLR is crap.

The SLR is not crap. And even with a turbo and a few other parts the M3 would struggle
NOW LETS SEE JUST HOW CRAP THE SLR REALLY IS:
ENGINE---------------------------------
Type: V8, Supercharged
Displacement cu in (cc): 332 (5439)
Power bhp (kW) at RPM: 617(460) / 6500
Torque lb-ft (Nm) at RPM: 575(778) / 3250-5000
Redline at RPM: 7000
BRAKES & TIRES-------------------
Brakes F/R: ABS, vented disc/vented disc
Tires F-R: 255/35 R19 - 295/30 ZR19
Driveline: Rear Wheel Drive
Exterior Dimensions & Weight
Length × Width × Height in: 183.3 × 75.1 × 49.6
Weight lb (kg): 3897 (1768)
POWER------------------------
Acceleration 0-62 mph s: 3.8
Top Speed mph (km/h): 208 (334
HOLY CRAP..... FOR A CAR THAT YOU SAID IS CRAP.... THAT SURE IS WAY BETTER THAN THE M3

I'm guessing most of the people here can't afford it anyway...
Well then if you can't be happy with that car I don't think you would be happy with any other car becuause those people put alot of hard work in designing the SLR, Skyline Boy.
Well peter says that M3 is almost in leauge of the Corvette. Looking to that there are leagues of exotics???Peter Ferrell wrote:Whoa... In my opinion, that should shoot down any doubts about the BMW not being an exotic... 0-60 in 4.8? THat's almost in the league of the Corvette. Almost.

Sure why not... The base model Corvette (in Canada at least) I believe read could do 0-60 in 4.3? Well adding on the Z06 performance package, maybe high 3's low 4's? (0-60). And, as pointed out earlier, the SLR does 0-60 in 3.7... Tell me now, is that not exotic? And, as with every car, there is a competitor for it. Hence, the "league" of exotics.

0-60 says nothing, it doesn't make it a good car. the SLR is a much better car then a Corvette ever will be. the SLR has much better handling and stability it got fenominal braking power.
The tested the brakes of the SLR in Top Gear and it could stop in the legal limit for a car that drives 60 MPH but they drove at 120 mhp (200kmh) and it stop within that distance (wich was really short for a car doing that speed!)
And the SLR is not a real merc it is basicly a McLaren with a Merc engine and some merc components, and merc luxury.
It is still a brittish build car.
