The game is fun but my graphics look pretty bad. My computer still hasn't came, they are FINALLY coming on Monday so I can see whats the best graphics card to get for it. I think I'm going to buy some other accelerators and stuff too.

There are controllers for he pc right? Because I'll get BE MW for ps2 , and then in december I'll get BE for the pc.

EDIT: Hewlitt Packer people, ever heard of this kind of computer and is it good? I don't know anything about the modem yet though, just the name. Anybody know the best graphics card for MW and this pc? The best because I have money to spare.

Off topic - I don't know if it's fit for gaming, but I have heard it's good! I use Alienware.

P.S. Just played the demo, and all I can say is:  That's the most number of features that I have ever seen in a demo! It is awesome. I will post some screenies in the screenshots thread soon!

Got a question:

The demo runs fine on my rig but for some reason, I can't calibrate the brake pedal. The game doesn't recognize it. However, when I try to calibrate it in windows, it says it's working fine. Is this just a demo glitch or what? I'm running a Microsoft Sidewinder Racing Wheel (non-force feedback). I've run it on U1 and U2, demo and full versions with no problems. Can anyone shed some light on this?

I haven't tested the demo, but if anyone has a PC that's a little similar to mine, and have tested it, lemme know how it runs...

Hey, I have exactly the same setup as you but with a Athlon 2000+. It's all I can afford ATM.

Anyways, I run the demo on 800 x 600 res, with almost max detail except for reflection detail and reflection update rate (these set to lowest non-off setting) and the game runs fine.

AWESOME DEMO. It took me only 20mins to D/L from official EA server, but then I was among the very 1st to know it was there.

From http://www.nfs-planet.de:

"We received an answer from Electronic Arts Germany today: Need for Speed Most Wanted will be released in Europe for all platforms only as the regular edition. There will be only one Black Edition, which is for the Playstation 2. The Black Editions for PC and Xbox could not be localized because of limited resources of the studio.

This is quite unfair, since in North America the PC version will be released only as the Black Edition. We can only hope that the NFSMW Black Edition will be released later, maybe at christmas, but as far as we know there are no plans like that at the moment."

EDIT: Can't believe I'm still here when I should be playing MW!!!

He SIC,

thank god I am not the only one with that problem, I was wonding the same thing.

I got a ATI Radeon 9800XT and had set everything on max also and overall it looked STUNNING but the damn shadows look awfull..

I think it is a bug in the game with at the moment the 9800 series by ATI don't know if other radeon uses have this problem to see what I mean see the pics posted by SIC.

It is really frustrating cause the damn shadow of the car is awfull looks like the resolution is 320x145 or something...

[quote="sic"]greetings ... i have just started the demo ... and im a bit upset ...
had anybody the same problem ?
I play on 1280x1024 (everything on max, high) with ati 9800 pro (with latest graphic driver) ... no matter what i change i get no change still sux :?
see the shadows
DON'T QUOTE PICTURES Especially not LARGE PICS

Hey, my shadows look like that, too...so I turned it off. I think it's because it's just a demo <- speculation. I play on 800x600 (everything max, except AA @ med, Texture Filtering @ 0) with Radeon 9600 Pro.

I don't know about SIC and MrRoboto but I want a maxed out looking game with my GFX card. I can play it maxed out and when I have the full version I want it to be perfect.

I have a slightly overclocked radeon 9800pro 128mb, and i was able to get an average of 47 fps with everything maxed out (except shadows due to previously stated problems reguarding them). The game looks beautiful, a great improvement over UG2, i think the fact that its in the daytime, instead of night, has alot to do with it. also im glad that they're finaly puting some super cars in, because thats what need for speed used to be all about, driving insanely fast and exotic cars. They even gave some love to the porsche enthusiasts out there with the caymen, carrera, and the 911's.

I got the exact same specs as you, and these are the graphics that I can obtain, with just a small amount of lag.

Note: This is with mirc and winamp running, and images resized to manage to upload them.

I've been having problems with the demo. At any point in time, whether in races or menus, the game just freezes for a few seconds, like 20, and a continuous revving sound can be heard repeatedly. This goes on for the next few minutes, and then goes back to normal again.

Has anyone here have the same problem as me? What's the solution to this?
