HATE THE GAME

Yeh i hate it i think it sucks.

BEcause.

1. Modding is a load of wank, THEY have made the bodykits, you cant put your own exhaust on, no new lights, no new mirrors. Just shiznit coulors and stupid pointless bodykits and no depth into customization

2. No good tuner cars, there all gay 4 doors or out of our price range cars in real life or shiznit fiat puntos...

3. VERY repetative, its very boring

4. In real life when you race for pinks you take there car not a shiznit little hidden thing WTF is that

5. When you rev the car in NEUTRAL it goes forward...what a weewee take

6. The race starts are just stuck in the middle of the road with a big cloud of dust round it, you could have the racers waiting for you instead....what a turd idea

Well thats me done, THERES LOTS more i hate about the game THEY HAVE RUINED NFS, and maybe they should make it better next time

I will play the game but it is very boring and repetative

What you're asking for is in impossible. The game looks different on cards. There is no one setting that makes the game look good, have no lag and work on any video card.

I suppose that everyone is entitled to their own opinion... But still, modding is a lot less work, and with the removal of the stars, you can concentrate more on the racing, which is the main point of the game, isn't it?

Usually when you floor the pedal of a car in neutral, yes, it will go forward. Slowly yes, but it does move. Furthermore, why do you care if it moves forward in neutral? Usually when you race, you should be in gears 1-6.

As for the hidden markers, I think its better than pink slips in some cases, as you can get another car, v.s. making your car better.

At last check, I thin there were three four door cars (WRX, Lancer, IS300)? What, would you rather have SUV's? All the four doors in this game are proven racers I might add... As for no good tuning cars? What about the Eclipse, Supra, Cobalt, Golf, etc. And Fiats are not as crappy as you'd have us believe.

So please, next time you want to rant, feel free. But make sure you know what you are talking about.

burna wrote:This lag issue may not have anything to do with graphics.

On my comp:
AMD Athlon 2000+
512MB DDR400 RAM
GeForce 4200Ti MyVIVO
80GB WD HDD

...the game works fine except for occasional freezing for about a second then continuation, and very occasionally that stupid error that some peeps are getting, but otherwise no lag.

I said above that it may not be a graphics issue coz I got a fairly crappy vid card and I don't get more lag than my friend with a 6600GT (he gets this lag too).

So, I'm thinking it may be something to do with the bufferring of the streaming things in the game. Some of the times it's lagged the "dynamic music" has been changing pace or things so that could be the issue. Or, I sometimes get lag after having to reset my car, so I'm thinking it may also be the streaming world of MW that's trying to load.

This could be easily rectified in a patch by EA. All they need to do is to make the startup loading screen 1-2 seconds longer, and then have a greater buffer distance of map around the player. I knew these short (REALLY SHORT!!!) loading times had a catch  .

Could some of you guys who have the problem try to figure out what:
a) the music is doing
b) what speed you're going
c) what exceptional circumstances are happening around your car (eg: hitting stuff)
... when the problem happens.

That way we could figure out a pattern, maybe.
OK, I did try the solutions that were given on the EA Support site, and still didn't help. I've purchased the NFS Most Wanted Black Edition, checked the minimum requirements again, did whaat EA Support gave, and still, it happened!! All the freezing happened again... :x

Gosh, what the heck is wrong with this game? :x

Have you tried turning all the possible visual and sound option to their minumum playable ability, then gradually add them? That's a good way to find your problem. Just a suggestion...

My visual settings have been set to the extreme lowest, even in the demo. Still, didn't work. It definitely has got something to do with buffer, because all I see everytime is that when it buffers, it'll freeze and evetually 'hang / locks up' in the game and can't escape from the game.. :x

This just frickin' annoys me because this is the first time I am experiencing this with a Need For Speed game. The rest didn't occur as bad as this one. :?

No offence for your suggestion though, thanks for it! :)

Hmmm... I'm lost then... If not the visual settings, then I would say make sure every other program is closed down on your computer, and if that doesn't work, try removing programs - eg - games you don't play anymore, etc. But if you think it's something to do witht the buffer, then I can't help you. Sorry man.

Nah, it's alright. It's totally not your fault, don't be sorry. I appreciate your effort of helping. :)

Anyways, thank God the store gave me the number for EA Technical Support Singapore, otherwise I'm gonna have a hard time explaining VIA E-Mails... I'm gonna try to call them up and see what the heck is wrong.

I'd love to show you guys how this thing actually occurs, but unfortunately I can't use Fraps because I never know when it's gonna hang, and eventually, I can't save what I've recorded.

I hope they'll be working tomorrow though, 'cos tomorrow's a Sunday... :P

This may or may not help but when you're in the game, press Ctrl+Esc to return to Windows but still have MW open and either right-click on the task-bar and click on Task Manager or Ctr+Alt+Delete to open up Task Manager. Find the MW .exe (usually speed.exe) in the Processes menu. Right click on it and under Priority, set it to "High". This may or may not work depending on your amount of RAM and CPU power.

Honestly, I really believe you should get a new motherboard supporting 8x.

I really don't want to have to go way far to getting a new motherboard. Not only is it a hassle, it's a tedious process... But I shall try your solution again this time about the priority. What will it do actually?

Abrams wrote:Well what did you expect :) Sure Eclipse will beat Porsche with even 3 uniques added as well. Porsche isnt designed for tuning, meaning its harder to increase perfomrance. Also about the AI....thats the catch-up option that prevents you from getting very big split-times....for example like +10secs.

How you earn uniques tho? By beatin blacklist? Can you pend upgrade to get all on one car?

p.s. about 4x/8x AGP sorry, but well....didnt thought about such m-boards :)

But an eclipse weighs like 3500 sumthing an a porsche is like 3000 and has 295 horses at and a better 1/4mile time! so thats dumb and they didnt put in any g00d tunner cars like the nsx never did.............

oh yeah i think its lagging cuz your comp doesnt meet the requirements it says on the website or sumwhere it has to have 3.0ghz and lotsa hard drive and ram

WTF?? 3Ghz? Maybe 10 years time, it's possible...

Joking. :P

No. My game comes with a manual, and I've totally met with the system requirements. The required speed is 1.4GHz, and my computer is at 2.0GHz. The required RAM is at least 256MB, I've got 1GB. What more do I need?

If u think 1.4ghz is gonna work u better see and play nhl06 and test if that lags on your 2.0ghz comp cuz it lags on a 1.7ghz of mine and uhh i played nfsmw with a 3.2ghz comp and good graphic card and it worked beautifully no lag no glitch no nothing even if u use a 2.93ghz comp and play nfsu2 (not online) it still lags!

@Andre_online: until you mentioned your soundcard I was convinced this might be the issue
Howerver, some ideas:
- try putting winxp pro sp2
- try the game without music
- downgrade the version of your video drivers (this solved some issues with Richard Burns Rally for me)
- disable any kind of overclocking (video card or CPU) - if you have it.
If nothing works, try memtest86 (google for it) and see if your RAM is ok :?

OK, this is kinda weird... I installed the game at another PC which sucks bad, and nothing happened!! Shocking for me!!!

That PC is like 128MB of RAM, 32MB GFX, 40GB hard-drive, and it's running smooth, as in like no 20 secs freezing, and didn't get locked up!! Hmmm, something's really fishy...
