Hey the 350z blueprints doesnt match (sizes are similar, but not exactly equal) Should I resize them??

Back --> 356x241
Front --> 358x240
Side --> 783x242
Top --> 784x359

I suppose I have to set 358x241x784 (for example) it is ok?

Keep the blueprints exactly the same size as they are, if you start to change them you will run into problems.. (its vertually impossible to get exact blueprints) especially free ones..

They will be fine for the modeling stage, as I said, they are there just for reference and should not be exact to them.. not at this stage..

Hope everyone else is doing ok so far..

Im Just about to start typing up the next lesson, starting with modeling the wheels..

Watch this space.....

I have already changed them. I think it is better to have 3dimensions and not 6 or 7different because I would turn crazy when make the planes!

Ok, here is my work. Is it correct the "rear view" ?? Or must I put the blueprint in the other face of the plane??

Thanks, I came further...

Now, I met with another problem. :shock:

When I'm trying to place the front blueprint, it changes the side blueprint to the front one while the plane supposed to be the front has the front blueprint too. :?

LOL, I always get weird problems.-.-'

Ok, what you need to do, is create another lambert material..
so in total, you need 4 lambert materials with the 4 images assigned to each one seperatly..

See how ya get on

Am I wasting my time here? or are people doing it but not posting..?

In lesson 1 you tell us to , go back to hypershade and middlemouse button drag the texture onto your polyplane, but when I middle click the lambert in the hypershade the texture wont move.

I'm very interested in learning about this 3D modelling, zak.

But I have a problem; after creating the side of the car. How do I create a new lambert? Whenever I make a new surface for either the front, back, or top, I can't seem to make a new lambert, thus all surfaces have the same blueprint :(

Any Ideas?

This tutorial is so difficult to me. I found 3 problems:
1) Im user from 3dstudio, not Maya.
2) I am not an expert in 3dstudio.
3) In addition, I have to make an effort to translate English-->Spanish

How can I complete the rims? Watch the pic above, I have to "crop" with another circle to put here the rims.

Ok first Perry, in hypershade you need to Select and press the lambert surface shader on the left hand side (may have to look under surfaces for that) as soon as you press it it should make a new one..

or failing that in the work area of the hypershade, right mouse click, then choose Create > Materials >Lambert...

Dani350, Sorry to hear your prblems, maybe you can join the rest of us and download maya?

The link is in the other thread..

Thanks zak, I'm just about to get the tyre done now.. just one more thing though..

In perspective view, my camera won't move like it used to. For instance, I can't move the camera over the top of the car or under it. It's only going side to side for some strange reason. It's not stopping me from making the car, it's just annoying.

Any ideas appreciated.

Yeah, I got that problem when I was busy.. I couldn't find my car anymore. :shock:

I can't believe it.. I started over again, but now I can't drag the texture into the plane.. :evil:
